Who We Are

An Independent Publisher
Built on Principle

London Medical Publishers was founded with one conviction: that the world of medical and academic publishing needed a publisher that placed the quality of knowledge above the convenience of volume.

Our medical list encompasses clinical reference works, specialist texts, and postgraduate education resources. Our non-medical list brings the same editorial discipline to history, biography, public affairs, and serious non-fiction.

We are independently owned, editorially uncompromising, and accountable only to the quality of what we publish.

"We do not publish to fill a list. We publish because we have found something we believe in."

Mission & Vision

Our History

London Medical Publishers was incorporated in London in 2022, founded by a small group of clinicians, editors, and publishing professionals who shared a conviction that medical publishing had become too driven by volume, too dependent on established names, and too slow to respond to the genuine needs of clinical readers.

The company launched its first medical titles in 2023, establishing a peer-review framework built around subject expertise rather than institutional proximity. The editorial team drew on relationships with leading clinicians and academics across the UK, Republic of Ireland, and internationally to build a reviewer panel of over 200 specialists from 28 countries.

In 2023 the company launched the LMP Medical Review, its peer-reviewed clinical journal, which received its first COPE endorsement and attracted submissions from researchers across 28 countries within its first year.

In 2024 the company established Publishers International, a division focused on the Gulf region, South Asia, and East Africa, with an office in Dubai enabling relationships with regional academic and clinical institutions that a London-only operation could not serve effectively.

London Medical Publishers remains independently owned. We have no external investors, no parent group, and no obligations to parties whose priorities differ from our own.

Submissions

Clear Processes.
Genuine Engagement.

"Constructive feedback — always. For every submission we receive."

A. Book Proposals — Medical

We welcome proposals from clinicians, academics, and clinical educators at any career stage. What matters is the quality of the proposal and the importance of the subject.

  • A project overview of 400–800 words describing the book, its intended audience, and its clinical relevance
  • A chapter-by-chapter synopsis with estimated word counts
  • An assessment of comparable titles and how this proposal differs from or improves upon them
  • A brief statement of the author's relevant clinical or academic background
  • Two to three sample chapters or a complete draft (if available)

Send proposals to: proposals@londonmedicalpublishers.com

B. Book Proposals — Non-Medical

Our non-medical editorial programme applies the same rigour to a different tradition. We seek books that illuminate a subject with genuine authority and will reward reading a decade from publication.

  • A proposal of 600–1,000 words covering the book's argument, significance, and intended readership
  • A chapter outline with brief summaries of each proposed chapter
  • An assessment of the market and any comparable titles
  • A brief author biography and relevant publications
  • At least one sample chapter

Send proposals to: proposals@londonmedicalpublishers.com

C. Journal Submissions — LMP Medical Review

The LMP Medical Review accepts submissions from clinicians and researchers worldwide. All submissions are subject to editorial desk assessment before peer review.

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via our online portal at: submit.lmpreview.com
  • All manuscripts must be formatted according to the Author Guidelines available on the journal portal
  • Structured abstracts are required for original research and systematic review articles
  • All authors must complete a conflict of interest declaration at submission
  • Clinical trials must have been registered on an approved international registry prior to submission
  • Ethics approval documentation must be provided for studies involving human participants

A Note on Responses

We provide constructive written feedback on every proposal and submission we receive. A rejection from London Medical Publishers will always be accompanied by a substantive explanation. We believe this is the minimum a serious author deserves from a serious publisher.
